It’s been a big month of yearling sales for Nutrien Equine. Four sales in three states has finalised in Victoria today with day 2 of the 2023 Melbourne Yearling Sale concluding this afternoon.
With a number of quality yearlings still on offer, we finished the day selling 191 of 283 offered and an average of $32,188.
Top Price of Day 2 was $100,000 and was reached twice by two trotters offered by Yabby Dam Farms early in the afternoon.
Lot 568 a colt out of DESTINEE JENILOU FRA by FATHER PATRICK USA purchased by Sold to KYVALLEY RACING from Brighton VIC and Lot 575 a filly out of EGEE MONEY FRA by VOLSTEAD USA was purchased by Jess Tubbs from Myrniong, VIC.
Overall the top price achieved yesterday afternoon, the Australian Yearling Sale record of $270,000 stayed in top position.
2023 MELBOURNE YEARLING SALE RESULTS – COLTS
Colts averaged 39,604 with a 77.21% clearance.
Top Price was Pacer Lot 549, colt out of CARLAS PIXEL by CAPTAINTREACHEROUS US. Sold to Five Arrow from North Adelaide in SA for $270,000.
Top Price Trotting Colt out of DESTINEE JENILOU FRA by FATHER PATRICK USA was the aforementioned Lot 568 $100,000 offered by Yabby Dam Farms to KyValley Racing, Brighton VIC.
2023 MELBOURNE YEARLING SALE RESULTS – FILLIES
Fillies averaged $22,945.
Top Price Filly was Trotter Lot 575 EGEE MONEY FRA by VOLSTEAD purchased by Jess Tubbs from Myrniong, VIC.
Top Price Pacing filly was Lot 488 2021 FILLY out of YANKEE SHOWGIRL by ALWAYS B MIKI USA for $96,000 consigned by Lauriston Bloodstock and prepared by LLOWALONG FARMS – Dr Kath McIntosh.
