James Moorhead wins the 4CYTE Charlie Maher Memorial Young Guns Campdraft

There was high anticipation with three 91’s as top scores leading into the 4CYTE Charlie Maher Memorial Young Guns.
Number 9 in the draw was James Moorhead riding STYLE N BLUES owned by EM & TL Moorhead.

James came into the final round with a respectable 89 points, but it was clear from the first peg that this run was going to be something special. Judge Bruce McNaughton thought so too, scoring James a 66 outside, which gave him a 92 point run, the highest of the whole Young Gun Competition.

James hails from the Nothern Tablelands of NSW at Glencoe and the Moorhead family are long time vendors of the Nutrien Sale, who also have one horse in this years sale at Lot 572. A great win considering this is James last year in the Young Guns.
We thank Ellerston Pastoral Company for their valued support of this draft and long time donation of cattle for the Young Guns.

Thank you also to 4CYTE for their generous sponsorship. The Charlie Maher Memorial Campdraft is a special event, named after one of the founders of the Classic, in Charlie Maher, who was an important mentor for so many young people.
