Gemma Smallmon

Standardbred Equine Sales and Administration Support

Gemma is an experienced administrator who has spent her life around horses in many industries, including polocrosse, thoroughbreds, campdrafting and standardbreds.

Fresh out of Year 12, she started with Riverdene Stud and Equine Veterinary Hospital where she remained for 9 years. From there, moved to the Hunter Valley and continued her breeding and nursing journey on Gerry Harveys, Baramul Stud for a further 5 years.

Returning to Wagga to be around family for the birth of her children, she took an opportunity at Yirribee Pacing Stud. From there, entering into a managerial administration position which enhanced her skillset, which will be invaluable at Nutrien Equine Standardbred.

Gemma will be based at the Wagga Wagga Nutrien Ag Solution branch and is excited to join the Nutrien Equine team. “My passion is anything horses so having had a taste of the Standardbreds earlier in my career with the position at Yirribee Pacing Stud, I was keen to expand my knowledge and get to know everyone further”.

Outside of work, Gemma enjoys quality family time and is passionate about her own horses and breeding.

Gemma is looking forward to being the trusted, friendly face that the Nutrien Equine customers can call on, and creating a streamlined and positive experience.
