Captaintreacherous gelding Spock won his last Australian start on November 7th 2021 at Penrith as a 3yo.

He was cleared to the United States on 9th February 2022 and on Friday night (Saturday afternoon Australian time) he won his first American start as a 5yo although he would only be a 4yo had he remained in Australia.

Driven by expat Australian Todd McCarthy, Spock lowered his career mark to 1:52.0 at just his 15th start in a race and provided a timely boost for his dam The Baggy Green.

The Baggy Green is Lot 26 in the Nutrien Winter Woolies Sale this well-performed daughter of Art Major has a record of p,1:57.0 and stakes of $108,700 and she is not only the dam of Spock but also the dam of three other winners.

The Baggy Green is a daughter of the Australian 2yo Pacer of the Year Lady Waratah p,2,1:59.5 $564,770 and she is therefore a half-sister to Some Waratah p,1:50.3 $160,855 and this season’s 3yo Australian Gold Bullion winner Steno p,2,1:51.9 $131,780.
