Nutrien Equine – We sell winners

The 2021 Nutrien Yearling Sale produced its sixth individual 2yo winner for the 2022 season when Naturally Gifted won at Penrith on Thursday night for owner Jake Stockton, trainer Wayne Dimech and driver Jack Trainor.

Like the other five Nutrien Sale 2yo winners this season Naturally Gifted went sub 2:00 with a rate of 1:59.4 for the 1720 metres and winning by almost eight metres from Aureus and Promiseland.

Bred by P W Judd, C A Judd, T N Commadeur and M Commadeur, Naturally Gifted was sold as Lot 118 for $30,000.

Naturally Gifted is the first foal from his dam Perfectlyimperfect which is by Bettors Delight and took a record of p,1:58.0. His grand-dam Mach And Me p,2,1:58.4 $159,885 won a 2yo Australian Gold Final.

He is a son of Sweet Lou who has 14 yearlings on offer this coming Sunday at Nutrien’s second sale.

Five of them in Lots 56, 66, 70, 80 and 100 are like Naturally Gifted in that they are out of mares by Bettors Delight.

This is a cross that has produced 44 winners in the Southern Hemisphere to date including the New Zealand 2yo Filly of the Year Sweet On Me p,2,1:55.2 $246,960. Seven of the 44 winners have each earned in excess of $100,000.

Another graduate from the 2021 Nutrien Sale in the Roll With Joe gelding Rolling Fire made his first public appearance in an educational trial at Pinjarra on Wednesday evening.

Trained by Justin Prentice, he was faultless cruising home by 30 metres and covering the final 400 metres of the 1684 metre trial in 29.2 seconds.

He was sold as Lot 18 for $31,000 to a group of well-know Gloucester Park identities including President John Burt, CEO Michael Radley and major sponsor Glen Mortimer (Retravision).
