American Ideal filly takes out Gold Bracelet

American Ideal filly takes out Gold Bracelet

The $100,000 Group One Bathurst Gold Bracelet on Friday night was taken out by Robert Watson’s homebred American Ideal filly Soho Rhapsody in the first leg of a Group One double on the night for trainer/driver Rickie Alchin.

That Watson should breed to American Ideal is hardly surprising after the success he enjoyed with the American Ideal stallion Soho Tribeca which won 21 races and stakes of $1,103,854.

Lauriston Bloodstock will offer an American Ideal filly as Lot 225A at next Sunday’s Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale.

This filly is a half-sister to the 2021 2yo Australian Gold Bullion winner Irish Black Label p,2,1:55.4 $121,480 and her dam is the Art Major mare Rosie O’Reilly p,2,1:56.5.

Lot 225A is therefore bred on the identical cross to Soho Tribeca being by American Ideal from a mare by Art Major.

This cross is no one-hit-wonder either with 26 winners bred on the cross including four individual winners of $100,000.

Rosie O’Reilly is a half-sister to None Bettor p,1:48.6 $776,095 and a full-sister to Abouttime p,1:52.9 $111,500.
