Breeder John Dumesny breeds from one or two mares every year and sells the foals as yearlings at one of a couple of New South Wales sales.
This year he is offering one yearling at the Nutrien Sydney Yearling Sale and one at Nutrien’s Bathurst Yearling Sale.
Believe it or not both yearlings are Lot 45 and they are out of half-sisters in My Lively Lass and Dolce Bella.
On Saturday night at Albion Park the Somebeachsomewhere gelding Lyrical Genius, a son of My Lively Lass, brought up his second win in his past three starts and took his career record to 11 wins in 34 starts for stakes of $154,520.
Last season as a 4yo Lyrical Genius won the Group One NSW Western Regional Championship Final.
My Lively Lass p,1:58.5 has three foals aged 3yo or older and all three are winners with her fourth foal due to race in 2023 as a 2yo.
Her 5th foal, a colt by Vincent, is being offered as Lot 45 at the Bathurst Sale.
Dolce Bella, a Mach Three half-sister to My Lively Lass, is the dam of Roscommon Rose p,2,1:55.8 $49,241 and is the dam of Lot 45 in the Sydney Sale.
Moi Attack p,3,1:59.2, the grand-dam of both yearlings, is a half-sister to 2yo Queensland Seymour Nursery winner Catwalk Beauty p,2,1:58.2 $156,566 which is the dam of 2yo Queensland Triad winner Cat King Cole p,2,1:55.3 $146,953.
Anthony Dumesny is preparing both yearlings and he can be contacted on 0427 415 098 to arrange inspection.
