Chris was born into a thoroughbred racing family and grew up riding from a young age at pony club. He enjoys announcing at Campdrafts, stock horse events and local shows. Chris also thoroughly enjoys calling a good game of polocrosse and gives race calling a crack from time to time.

What Do You Do When You Aren’t Working At Nutrien
Chris attends the stables as often as he can and helps out with the racehorses. He can be found most of the time watching the races or at a race meeting. Chris’ favourite phrase to say every Saturday morning when asked what’s happening for the day “BIG DAY OF RACING”. He has just got back into riding and looks forward to competing at Campdrafts. Look out for Dozer and the light blue float.

I come from a family who have been involved with the Horse industry for many years either competing or breeding for varied sporting disciplines with home bred Horses competing at National level, from a young age I competed at junior and senior Rodeos, Polocrosse and Campdrafting to which I still compete at Local Campdraft events when possible. I have purchased Horses out of the Classic Sale and have been very fortunate to have 2 make it back into the finals with a third missing the finals by 1 point.

I have been involved with horses all my life, my main interests lie in performance horses, cutting and campdrafting.
I purchased a gelding from the Classic that I am keen to get going drafting.

After leaving school I was employed by Hannan Livestock Pty Ltd of Ladysmith NSW and furthered my skills and knowledge to hold roles of Livestock Manager and Assistant Manager. I’ve gained extensive feedlot experience and it was also when I began an association with my long time friend Phil Webb.

Spending time with my children and training a few horses keep me pretty busy these days.

Dane Pearce

Where are you based?
Rockhampton, QLD

Equine Experience:
Dane grew up around horses and learnt to break in and shoe from a young age. He and his wife have played Polocrosse for a number of years. They continue to breed and break in Australian Stock Horses and try to get to Polocrosse Carnivals when they can find the time.

Area of Expertise:
Stud Stock & Commercial Auctioneering, Livestock Marketing & Announcing. Dane won the 2008 Queensland Young Auctioneers Competition and was a National Finalist in 2009 at the Sydney Royal Easter Show Young Auctioneers Competition.

What Do You Do When You Aren’t Working For Nutrien:
Dane enjoys spending time with his wife Amie and his two boys, Eli & Cody. Dane is still playing Rugby league & enjoys coaching his kids in their Junior Rugby League competition. Dane and his family are also involved in various sporting and community events in the local area including the Local Show, Rugby League & Polocrosse. He spends a lot of time announcing at local events, shows & polocrosse carnivals, as well as conducting numerous charity auctions around our local area.

Simon enjoys competing in Campdrafts & Challenges, alongside running a few cattle of his own and breeding a few horses. 

Mark Barton

Where Are You Based
Wagga Wagga, NSW

Mark has grown up with horses and now breeds, competes, and sells Australian Stock Horses.
He is now a director and vice President of the Southern Campdraft Association and former President.
Mark is also a delegate on the National Campdraft Council of Australia. He and his family compete at around 20 drafts per year and he is an Open Campdraft judge and accredited ASH judge and breed inspector.
