Records broken with a positive market and new incentives for a successful 2021 Supreme Sale

We’ve seen records broken once again in Toowoomba. With the challenge of 2020 behind us and a successful 2020 online sale; the team at the 2021 Supreme Sale ran both 2020 and 2021 incentive events last week hosting a 5-day event which has been a highlight for all that attended.

It was an incredible weekend of selling with the Day 1 gross of the sale sitting only $20,000 under the entire gross for 2019. This is an incredibly exciting indication of the ongoing confidence in the performance horse market as well the incentives attached to these Nutrien Sale horses.“A massive day, following on from the Nutrien Classic in February where records were thrown out the window; we have had a broodmare sell for $93,000, something we have never done up here (at the Supreme); and we saw yearlings today topping our sale records from the online sale last year. All looking positive after just day one” said Simon Booth from Nutrien Equine.

The sale gross was $2,399,500, which is up $1,204,274 from 2019 and the average of the 2021 Supreme Sale was $12,696. With a clearance rate of 86.3%, the Supreme Sale is growing from strength to strength and a credit to the Nutrien Equine Team and Toowoomba Branch.

The inclusion of the online bidding with Auctions Plus has really enhanced the way Nutrien Equine sells horses and the user experience for those who cannot physically attend the sale. With the success of the 2020 Online Supreme Birthday Bonanza and the Nutrien Classic, having Auctions Plus option for live online bidding, has become an integral part of the way people can purchase online. With over 550 bids on the weekend and 21 horses being sold through Auctions Plus, we are pleased to have this as the future of our online bidding platform.

The sale included a part reduction sale from the Donell Park Stud with the 2021 sale topper Lot 53 JUST CHARITY, as part of this reduction sale. The 5-year-old broodmare was purchased by R & A Linneth from Tansey QLD for $93,000! JUST CHARITY is by HAZELWOOD CONMAN, and out of the SELIGMAN SPIN daughter POSSUM SUE. This big beautiful bay mare is PTIF to ACRES DESTINY sire, REVERIE INVICTUS and is a full sister to the impressive colt AL CAPONE.

Donell Park also topped the yearling section with Lot 96 COUNT TESSA who sold for $65,000 to Cedargrove ASH Stud from Beaudesert QLD. This black filly is by HAZELWOOD CONMAN and out of another SELIGMAN SPIN daughter in THE COUNTESS.

The Donell Park Reduction Sale sold all 9 horses entered in the sale and grossed $326,000.

No doubt the new yearling incentive encouraged the market with all yearlings purchased from the Supreme Sale are not only eligible for the Supreme 2-year-old challenge, but also the 5-year-old Challenge and Campdraft incentives. This great innovative from the Supreme Sale gives these yearlings another incentive through until they are 5 years old.

The ridden section of the sale was again popular with Lot 216 JAGUARS LITTLE TWISTER, a METTALIC JAGUAR mare, on account of Allan MacDonald, selling for $37,000 to Ruan Grazing Company out at Clermont QLD.

Topping the ridden geldings was Angie Innes’ Lot 115 WOOD BE STYLIN. This 3-year-old STYLIN CAT progeny was purchased by Vicki Howard from Emerald QLD for $32,000.

Ben and Jaye Halls Lot 72 HALLS INTORRIO was the highest priced colt. Ben and Cheri Stanger from Julia Creek QLD purchased this REVERIE INVICTUS yearling for $30,000.
