Featuring some exciting bloodlines we look forward to April 2021
The computers have run hot today with nominations closing today for the 2021 Nutrien Standardbred Yearling Sale.
This week we sponsored a nomination to the Vic Harness Breeders Association podcast which was won by Adam Wilkinson. Congratulations to Adam who was also our first vendor to enter the Nutrien Standardbred Yearling Sale. He has three quality yearlings entered into the sale, two of which are from the very progressive Fleets Pocket Family.
Adam said “I’m very proud of the 3 colts that I will be selling and believe these will be highly sought-after yearlings.”
Both are beautiful, well conformed colts by leading sires American Ideal and Art Major going back to the very strong Dam line of Fleets Pocket.
Fleets Pocket has had 16 foals, 11 have raced for 11 winners, nine in two minutes, three in sub 1:55.0. Her progeny have won in excess of $1.5 million dollars on the race track.
Adams other yearling is a colt out of the very strong Ark Maree family. Arkabar - American Ideal Colt. Arkabar has had 2 foals to race for two winners including Tasmanian Oaks winner and 1.53.9 performer Ghadastar, she is the winner of 9 races. Ark Maree is the dam of 10 individual winners of over 150 races and $1.2 million dollars in stakes. Arkabar is a half-sister to Atomic Ark ($435k), Arkamigo ($293k), Arkareena ($130k), Ark De Ville ($115k).
Adam says “This colt is a also a very well conformed, nice moving colt. This is the first colt from Arkabar, her previous two foals were both fillies.”
We are so excited to showcase the quality breeding through entries we have received. Another great vendor supporting our sale is Llewellyn Park from Bannockburn, VIC.
Llewellyn Park are offering 2 quality yearlings at the inaugural Nutrien sale in 2021. They include a stunning colt out of the Group 1 winning mare Park Life 1.53.2 and a superb filly by new sire Control The Moment out of a very well related Rock N Roll Heaven mare Heavenly Scent.
Their first offering is a stunning black colt by Betting Line out of Park Life (Rock N Roll Heaven). The dam Park Life was triumphant in the APG Group 1 Final for 2yo fillies in a slick time of 1.53.2, which was the equal fastest time by any 2yo of that year, and the fastest filly of 2016. Park Life had a race record of 24 starts for 8 wins and 12 placings for $188 571 before injury curtailed her career.
His sire, Betting Line has hit the ground running as a sire in the USA with quality winners from his first crop including the very smart Amazing Bet, who is also out of a Rock N Roll Heaven mare, and another winner Extrilla Hanover was out of as Rocknroll Hanover mare, so this cross looks the goods already.
The other yearling being offered by Llewellyn Park is an athletic and correct filly by Control The Moment. She is the 2nd foal the Rock N Roll Heaven Mare Heavenly Scent. Her first foal is the Terror To Love filly Celestial Fragrance which has had 2 starts for a 4th and an impressive win over the 2180 trip in a slick time of 2.005, last quarter of 27.5 winning by over 19m. Heavenly Scent is a half-sister to Miss Moneybags 1:55.8 $114 000 and also a ½ to 6 other winners. Her grandam Mistron, needs no introduction, she has produced 11 winners with earnings over the $1million mark including Masterson 1:50.4 $506000. Both yearlings are correct and athletic, well-handled and nicely grown and have had the best of care since birth.
We look forward to profiling more of the outstanding entries we have received and thank all our vendors for entrusting us with their yearlings for next years sale.
