2023 Nutrien Classic Sale & Campdraft

2023 Classic prices cannot be reined in!

The 16th Annual Nutrien Classic performance horse Campdraft and Sale has been bigger and better than ever in 2023. The 10-day event concluded on Sunday 5th of February with record breaking success. Whilst sales are still being processed, the results recorded so far make the 2023 Classic the highest-grossing sale over its 16-year history. The sale has generated more than $17.21 Million in horse sales, with an average selling price of $32,595 and a clearance rate of 90.72%. This is the third year running that the event has produced more than $10 Million in sales.

Topping this year’s sale was DUCKTACULAR, on account Kathryn and Michael Vivers, purchased for $400,000 by Wongalee Pastoral. Other notable sales include the $325,000 purchase of Lighthouse Station Pty Ltd.’s PEPPYPHLAIRE by Koobah Performance Horses, which is the highest priced open aged stallion to ever sell at the Classic; Tuff Syndicate’s purchase of BROTHER TUFF WOOD on account of the Poole Family for $300,000; and KISS MY GRASS, on account of Bunyarra Park Pty Ltd, who sold for $225,000 to Strategies 4S -Equine. Another 14 horses were also sold for huge prices of over $100,000.

As well as outstanding sale results, spectators at the event also enjoyed a show of brilliant horsemanship and quality breeding displayed during the campdrafting and challenge competition. The classic saw a total of 1163 campdraft nominations take to the arena to compete for a share in $360,000 worth of prizes – Australia’s largest campdraft prize pool – across 8 categories, and the winners were:
