At Penrith on last Thursday night the Troublemaker mare Distant Memory produced her sixth winner when the 2yo filly Lasting Memory, driven by Ashleigh Delosa for trainer Rickie Alchin, worked hard in the middle stages to get to a position outside the leader and, after hitting the front turning for home, held off Kingston Rainbow and Watch Africandance to win rating 1:58.0 for the 1720 metres.

Lasting Memory’s breeders Denis & Jo Howe will offer a Captaintreacherous half-sister to Lasting Memory as Lot 109 in the Sydney Nutrien Yearling Sale.

Captaintreacherous is the sire of 141 Southern Hemisphere filly winners headed by the 2021 Australian 2yo Filly Pacer of the Year Encipher which has banked $1,635,479 and the 2022 New Zealand 2yo Filly Pacer of the Year Millwood Nike which went on to be named New Zealand Harness Horse of the Year in 2023 as a 3yo.

In addition to being bred on a successful cross, Lot 109 is a half-sister to four $100,000 earners including the Group Two Sibelia Stakes winner Hows The Memory, the sub 1:50 winner Delightful Angel which won the Group Three Caduceus Pace in Victoria and the Group Three 3yo Australasian Breeders Crown Silver winner Beach Memories.
