It is 1700 kilometres from Alberton in Queensland to Bendigo in Victoria but that wont deter Queensland trainer Shannon Price from making the trip with her smart young horses Sure Thing Captain and Force Full.
Last Tuesday she made the 939 kilometre trip from her Queensland home to Menangle for the heats of the Nutrien Sales Classic.
Sure Thing Captain brought up his sixth win at his 13th start when he took out the 3yo colts and geldings heat from the Victorian trained Dangerous and the Menangle trained Montalbano.
Price’s 2yo Sweet Lou gelding Force Full brought up his second win in six starts when he took out the 2yo Nutrien Sales Classic heat from Snakeskin and the favouriteTomahawk Bart.
Price took a travelling companion to the meeting in the 7yo gelding Makara and it too won to make Tuesday’s trip even more worthwhile.
Benstud Standardbreds, who bred Force Full, will be offering an American Ideal half-sister at the 2024 Nutrien Sale so keep and eye peeled when the catalogue is released in a couple of month’s time.
