The exciting 3yo filly Ladies In Red resumed racing at Ballarat last night with a ridiculously easy win in the A J Prendergast Memorial Oaks.

Driven by David Moran for trainer Emma Stewart, Ladies In Red worked into the breeze early but when it got to the business end, she ran away from her rivals to win easing down by 12 metres with her last 800 metres in 55.00 seconds.
The win took the daughter of Mach Three to a career record of 10 wins and one second in just 11 starts and earnings of $271,840.
She took out the Australian 2yo Pacing Filly of the Year title last season and looks on target for another super campaign.
One person nearly as excited as the connections of Ladies In Red last night was breeder John McGeechan who will offer a filly from a half-sister to Ladies In Red in the 2022 Nutrien Yearling Sale.
John’s filly is by boom sire American Ideal from the unraced Somebeachsomewhere mare Someone To Love.
Someone To Love’s first foal, the 3yo gelding Curly James broke his maiden status with a win at Cranbourne last Sunday rating a tick outside 2:00.
What was impressive about the win was the final 200 metres when Curly James at just his fifth start literally flew down the straight from a seemingly impossible position to get up in the final stride.
Someone To Love’s second foal is the current 2yo Amani a gelding by Sweet Lou that has been placed at two of its six race starts this season including a heat of the Bathurst Gold Crown.
Based on the recent efforts of Ladies In Red, Curly James and Amani there will be a lot more excitement in the countdown to the 2022 Nutrien Yearling Sale and some significant updates to this particular pedigree.
Nominations for the 2022 Nutrien Standardbred Yearling Sales to be held in Sydney Feb 20, 2022 and Melbourne April 3, 2022.
