Changeover, New Zealand’s 2007 3YO Colt of the Year and 2009 Aged Horse of the Year, six-time Group 1 winner and $2.4million earner, is one of the all-time great racehorses to grace the trotting turf in Australasia.
Now he is matching his greatness as a racehorse in the siring field.
Changeover, who was first at the stud in Christchurch and has been standing at Queensland’s Burwood Stud since 2017, has sired the winners of almost $20million in stakes. He has four in the 1:50 list, 57 in 1:55 and 32 $100,000 earners.
The In The Pocket horse has been among the top bracket of sires in NZ and Australia for nearly a decade and last season topped the three-year-old sires’ list in Queensland and was fourth on the two-year-old table.
Changeover is represented by one of the largest drafts at the Nutrien Equine Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale, sponsored by Ladbrokes, to be conducted by Nutrien Equine at Magic Millions, Gold Coast on March 12 with eight youngsters – three colts and five fillies.
