In doing so she became the first winner for her dam Golden Valour which is an unraced daughter of Courage Under Fire and a half-sister to five winners including Dragontown p,2,1:54.2 $50,935 and to the dam of Rule Of Thumb p,1:53.4 $102,223.
Golden Valour’s dam Goldtown Dancer is a half-sister to Sports Dancer p,1:59.5 $162,018 and to Sister Dancer which is the dam of former Australian 2yo Pacer of the Year Royal Verdict p,1:53.5 $537,522
Vendors Garry and Melva Graham will offer a half-brother to Alcatraz Girl as Lot 595 in the 2023 Nutrien Melbourne Yearling Sale.
This colt is from the first crop of multiple Group One winner Soho Tribeca p,3,1:53.8 $1,103,854 which was also placed in a Miracle Mile and a Hunter Cup.
Jetpack explodes
When the Love you 2yo filly Jilliby Jetpack exploded from her trailing position turning for home at Maryborough on December 29th she not only broke her maiden status but she did it in style the $25,000 Group Three Vicbred Super Series Silver.
Having just her fourth start in a race Jilliby Jetpack rated a smart 2:03.0 for the 2190 metres for trainer Paddy Lee and driver Jason Lee.
Bred by Yabby Dam Farms who will offer a Quaker Jet Half-brother to Jilliby Jetpack as Lot 579 in Nutrien’s Melbourne Yearling Sale.
This colt is the third foal from the very smart Skyvalley mare Aldebaran Eve tr,1:58.3 $158,508 which won the Group One Vicbred Super Series final as a 3yo and also won the Group Two Victorian 4yo & 5yo Trotting Mares Championship.
Jilliby Jetpack is her first foal and her second foal is scheduled to race as a 2yo in 2023.
Quaker Jet is the sire of 33 winners in the Southern Hemisphere and on Saturday night his daughter Revelstoke took out the Group One Vicbred Super Series final rating 1:57.5 for the 2240 metres.
Revelstoke became Quaker Jet’s fourth individual $100,000 earner in this part of the world.
One for the fans
Fans of the Assassins Creed video game would be familiar with the pirate Captain Benjamin Hornigold and at Penrith on December 29th the well-named Captaintreacherous 2yo filly Miss Hornigold won her first race rating 1:58.8 over the 1720 metres for trainer Michael Doltoff and driver Chris Geary.
Miss Hornigold became the third winner produced by the Art Major mare Louvre p,3,1:54.5 $402,665 and at the 2023 Nutrien Sydney Yearling Sale Sloys Company Pty Ltd will offer an American Ideal half-sister to Miss Hornigold as Lot 111.
Louvre won the Group One NSW Breeders Challenge as both a 2yo and 3yo and her half-sister to Miss Hazel p,1:57.0 $310,063 won a NSW Oaks and Australian Pacing Gold final as a 3yo.
Renaissance Man, a full-brother to Louvre, won a Group One NSW Sires Stakes final as a 2yo and a South Australian Derby as a 3yo.
Miss Ami Sloy p,3,1:56.2, a full sister to Louvre, is the dam of the smart 2022 2yo Promiseland p,2,1:55.0 $83,169 whose four wins included the 2022 NSW Pink Bonnet at Group Two level.
