The inaugural running of the $50,000 Nutrien Gold Crown Sales Classic will be run at Bathurst next Wednesday August 14.
Two heats for 2yos that were offered at the 2023 Nutrien Bathurst Yearling Sale were held last Wednesday and were won by the Heston Blue Chip gelding Gdansk and the Bettors Delight filly Sensationalize.
Gdansk is the second foal from the intriguingly named Courage Under Fire mare Sally Hemings and a win at his fourth start was overdue as he had finished in the first four at his three previous starts.
Sally Hemmings has now produced two winners from her only two foals.
Sensationalize is the sixth winner produced by Christian Cullen mare Localize and she has now won four races this season including a heat of the Bathurst Gold Tiara.
There are six fillies and four colts/geldings in the ten horse field which will see a Preferential Draw on Sex.
Due to shortages in the other races at the meeting finalisation of the meeting and barrier draws will be done at 9:30am on Monday August 12.
Nominations for the 2025 Nutrien Bathurst Yearling Sale have opened and close on September 29 with the Sale tentatively scheduled for March 30.
