Judge Dean Taylor presided over the first 150 runs of the Martins Stock Haulage Open this morning to kick off the 2023 Nutrien program. Cattle generously donated by the Hayes family – MRH Enterprises, Wallabadah were utilized by arguably the cream of the campdraft industry with some big runs already hitting the scoreboard.
Early leaders with 89 points included Troy Palmer riding Bluetoonz, Peter Connor riding CHIT CHAT and Matthew Moffat riding SHE B A CAT owned by Teah Beak.
With only 150 runs this morning, Ben Hall came out at 145 and scored a 90 to round up the mornings competition, riding CHISUMS CASH, owned by Ben & Christine Hall.
Marquee event the Nutrien Classic will commence later this afternoon with Glen (Sticks) Peterson swinging the whip.
